Don't think I was ready for this video when it first came out but I figured I'd come out with my support for it now after a full rewatch. I feel like the parts centered around the technical aspects and development bog it down a bit in the first 3rd but you hit your stride by the end. I still appreciate the video though because the amount of love and care you have for the craft is apparent. I appreciate your absolute dedication to sincerity in a world that is filled with cynicism. Thank you for making me cry on a tuesday afternoon.

It reminds me more of the gothic classic, "the castle of otranto" as inspiration.

I loved this movie… grateful I live in a time where technology (in the right hands) can make these characters truly come to life. I’m old enough to remember seeing Tin tin but having no knowledge of Herge’s story. I’d like to think he got a kick out or what Spielberg and team produced and your kind homage.

I'm not one to get emotional at media. I mean well and truly emotional. So overcome with feelings and thoughts that it just forcibly lets itself out. First time it happened was when I watched the ending to Angel Hare with my SO. The last few moments had my mind whirling so much that I just started to laugh uncontrollably. Maybe my mind just couldn't process what was happening, and defaulted to laughter as a fallback. Maybe it didn't like the overarching message, and was laughing as some kind of refutation of the ending scene. I don't know. Lavender couldn't tell either, but so we just waved it off and moved on to the next thing we had planned for that night. I think it was a Night Mind video or something, I honestly don't even remember. The second time, I had come across this indie platformer called SANABI. Absolutely badass game about using a grappling hook to rocket yourself into drones at high speeds and take down the corporation that killed your daughter. But then questions started to build, and the big reveal before the epilogue completely shattered me. Where was once elation at the fluid gameplay and some slight annoyance at quirks in the movement I never got down, was now pure unadulterated RAGE at Mago Corp, the scientists, the flashbacks, everything. I started shouting all kinds of nonsense at my screen. "Fuck you!", and "Fuck you!", and "Fuck you!", and "Fuck you!", and "Shit that makes so much sense now!" and "God how did I not see this shit earlier?" I wanted to see it all burn, and the final part gave me that in spades. I played through the entire second half of the game in one sitting, and that was the cherry on top. But then, as the credits rolled, I felt kinda hollow. Empty. Like, obviously nothing was stopping me from playing the game again or just going up to take a piss or whatever, but my brain was just filled with "Now what?" As the credits ended and the main menu reappeared, I just kinda sat there for a bit. Blank. The third time, was after I found a content creator by the name of Phirmth. I stumbled across a video essay he made on Ikaruga, and clicked it for something to watch while I ate lunch. Afterwards, satisfied, I was curious to see what other content he had made. Among his back catalogue was a video on this little action game called Lucah: Born of a Dream. A game it felt like no one else had ever heard of or played, and was one of the first things I recommended to people when they looked for something new to play. A game that I loved to death. I happy screamed so hard that my voice went hoarse for the rest of the day. Especially when I saw that he had the same praise for the game that I did, but actually articulated and edited and compiled into a succinct package that can elaborate more than "game good, fun combat, stellar music, neat vibes, go play it". And now, the fourth time, was this video. I found it from a TikTok slideshow recommending video essays, and I immediately opened this one up since TTGL is my favorite anime of all time. Everything about this thing was absolutely incredible, and even kinda sillier bits like you talking about how you came up with the name BREADSWORD made me start to think about how my username is basically built off of over a decade of iteration of the first ever internet handle I gave myself, codejunkie. Then the talk about your father having passed just floored me. All my usual fidgeting and fiddling was immediately removed as soon as you mentioned the second phone call. I watched the rest of the video with baited breath. A knot was growing in my gut bigger and bigger and bigger, almost painfully so by the end. And then, the final line hit. "Let me see you grit those teeth." And the floodgates opened. First it was some shaky breathing and clenched fists. Then, as it transitioned to that movie clip, I started to weep, only for it to turn into a full-on bawl as their cries of "I can't take it anymore!" grew into a cacophony. Something about it just fuckin' hit different. I don't have the energy to really cry, so the tears were pretty much gone by the time the Patreon read started, but I think it's telling that my mind immediately went to work writing this. I doubt anyone is going to read this, but I just want to say bravo, Breadsword, and thank you for making such a fucking incredible video.

Man, my sisters and I played the hell out of the Jak and Daxter trilogy. My fondest memory of the first game was when I deleted my oldest sister's save file for the first game when she was on her way to 100% it, and then I proceed to do it on the same file. She hasn't forgiven me for that since. Good times. The dock mission in Jak II was a MISTAKE.

I saw this movie multiple times, read the first book (will buy 2nd and 3rd next week actually) and I love both, the book (it is very, vey different) and the movie, very much I remember being like: it sucks how the movie is old and won't run in theathers but no,, after finishing the book this monday I found out that actually some cinemas will play it next week! In my area it will be only 2 times an hour from where I live but I need to see Hauru on the big screen, I heard it is also happening in some cinemas abroad so if you wanna see him too then I recommend checking that information out
